Please, hear me out…
Talking about feelings can be uncomfortable and really awkward. I know, I grew up with 7 brothers in an abundance of games, projects, and hobbies. As a sister, I got to see that underneath the constant activity there was an unspoken emotional depth in my brothers. Like a buried treasure that rarely surfaces, I knew the emotion was there and its value was immeasurable to me. My admiration for my brothers is the reason I extend men a special invitation to therapy. Men and boys matter. YOU matter.
The modern world is changing rapidly and men are being asked to adapt in ways that are completely new and unexpected. Many of you are telling the rest of us that you are fine when you’re not, but perhaps you just don’t want us to worry about you.
I get it, you don’t want to be fussed over, you just want to feel better. Therapy can help with that. There is no need to pour out your feelings because I know you have them, but are you using them effectively?
